This is the perfect hat for bringing in the autumn weather! This little number features a seed stitch brim on the knitted hat that is embellished with crocheted sunflowers or mums. Pattern includes a video YouTube link to walk you through the making of the sunflowers.


75 yards (68 meters) of worsted weight for the bottom contrasting color
150 yards (138 meters) of worsted weight for the top main color
30 to 60 yards (27 to 55 meters) of worsted weight or chunky weight for sunflower petals
10 yards (9 meters) of worsted weight for sunflower center
10 yards (9 meters) of novelty eyelash for sunflower center (optional)

Good hat yarn options: Dream in Color Classy; Berroco Vintage; Cascade 220 Superwash; Fantasy Dark Horse; Plymouth Encore Worsted

Sample sunflower version yarn: Dream in Color Classy in Tea Party and Happy Forest for hat and center of sunflower (250 yards/229 meters; 100% superwash merino); small amounts of Berroco Vintage Chunky (or Berroco Vintage Worsted) in Sunny (6121) and Crystal Palace Yarns Fizz in color 7342 for the flower.
